My Professional Journey
I’m Selena J, a psychic intuitive, channeler, spiritual advisor, personal growth coach, and meditation and breathwork guide. For more than a decade, I’ve worked with individuals, entrepreneurs, groups, corporations, educational institutions, and community organizations, offering intuitive guidance and experiences that support personal growth, spiritual development, greater self-awareness, and a deeper connection with Spirit.
My professional work encompasses intuitive readings, spiritual advising, personal growth coaching, guided meditation, breathwork, hands-on energy healing, group experiences, workshops, courses, and customized programs. I also provide intuitive guidance for entrepreneurs navigating business decisions, developing ideas, exploring opportunities, and finding direction in their professional lives.
A Broad Range of Professional Experience
Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to bring meditation, personal growth, and spiritual development experiences into corporate, educational, healthcare, nonprofit, and community settings. Organizations I've worked with include Armstrong Teasdale, Citibank, the University of Missouri–St. Louis, Washington University, Harris-Stowe State University, University City School District, Ameristar, Catholic Urban Programs, Mercy Hospital, the Pulitzer Arts Foundation, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Chestnut Health Systems.
My work in these settings has included developing and facilitating guided meditation experiences, leading personal growth and spiritual development programs, and presenting to employees, executives, students, and members of the public. Each setting has offered an opportunity to adapt my work to the needs of the people and communities I serve.
In 2013, I began teaching meditation and expanding my work into more direct personal-growth and life-enrichment experiences. I produced workshops and seminars focused on personal development, transformation, and entrepreneurship, eventually founding the Meditation Lounge in 2014. It was created as a community-centered environment where people could explore meditation, healing, personal growth, and spiritual development alongside others.
I closed the physical location in February 2020, but the work continued. Today, I offer private intuitive sessions, spiritual advising, coaching, meditation, breathwork, energy healing, group experiences, and personal growth and spiritual development programs through a variety of formats and locations.
Intuitive Development & Professional Training
My intuitive and spiritual development began long before I entered the professional field. At eight years old, I became aware of my ability to hear and receive guidance from what I understood to be divine intelligence. In my late teens, I also discovered an ability to work with energy for healing.
Much of my understanding of spirituality and universal knowledge has developed through an inner channel of guidance that has informed my meditation practice, personal study, and writing throughout my life. Around 2000, I began pursuing holistic health and spiritual studies more intentionally. As I explored ancient teachings, spiritual philosophies, and universal principles, I often recognized ideas I had previously received through meditation and inner guidance. These experiences deepened my commitment to understanding consciousness, the nature of our inner world, and our relationship with Spirit.
My professional training includes breathwork facilitation, certification as a Pranic Healing Practitioner, and practitioner-level attunement in Seichim Sekhem Reiki. I value both independent study and formal training, and I remain committed to continued learning and developing my skills in the fields of personal growth, energy work, and spiritual development.
A Career in Radio & Creative Expression
My professional background also includes an eleven-year career in radio with Clear Channel Radio, beginning in 2001. I started as a local on-air personality and eventually became a nationally syndicated host, reaching audiences across 18 stations from New York to Nashville. At the time I left broadcasting in 2013, I was simultaneously hosting middays on Majic 100.3 FM in St. Louis and hosting programming heard across the country.
My work behind the microphone extended beyond entertainment. Through inspirational commentary, spoken word poetry, and conversations about everyday life, I encouraged listeners to navigate difficult relationships, recognize self-defeating patterns, and make positive changes in their lives. Alongside my on-air work, I served as an Urban Production Director, developing and producing creative audio content and programming.
Creativity has always been an important part of my life. An inspirational writer and spoken-word poet, I began performing while attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale and went on to win state and regional titles in the Miss Eboness Pageant as an inspirational spoken-word poet. I also had opportunities to open for recording artists including Anthony Hamilton, Common, Mos Def, Dwele, and Javier.
Over the years, my creative interests have continued through writing, songwriting, music, painting, furniture projects, and other forms of artistic expression.
An Ongoing Commitment to Growth
For more than two decades, I have devoted myself to personal growth and spiritual development through meditation, professional training, independent study, and serving as a meditation and spiritual guide for others. My professional work and personal exploration continually inform one another, shaping how I understand the human experience and the many ways people can grow, heal, and develop.
At the heart of everything I do is a belief in the value of knowing ourselves more deeply, expanding our awareness, and discovering what becomes possible when we develop a more conscious relationship with ourselves, our lives, and Spirit.
